Comparisons & Architecture
How Radar 61 stacks up against the rest of the industry.
Every widget in Radar 61 is a panel you can move, resize, group, or float. This page covers how to arrange them.
Moving a widget
Drag a widget by its header. Drop it beside, above, or below another and the space splits to make room, creating a new column or row.
Grouping widgets as tabs
Drop a widget directly on top of another and the two become tabs in a single panel. Click the tabs to switch between them.
This is the most useful trick in the layout system. Tabs let you keep related tools together without giving each one permanent screen space. The Technical Analysis app uses it: Live Forecasts and Alerts share a panel, as do the Economic Calendar, Trader Notes, and Catalogue.
Resizing
Hover over the border between two panels until the cursor changes, then drag. Some widgets have internal dividers too, such as the Catalogue's list and detail panes.
Widget controls
Every widget header carries the same set on the right:
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Expand to full width | Fills the workspace temporarily. Use it again to restore. |
| Minimise | Collapses the widget out of the way |
| Close | Removes the widget from the workspace |
| Pop out | Opens the widget in its own floating window |
Pop out is what makes a second monitor useful: float a chart onto one screen and keep the feed on the other. The number you can have open at once depends on your plan, 2 on Watch, 5 on Core, and 10 on Pro.
Close removes the widget and its contents. For most widgets that costs nothing. For Trader Notes it deletes your saved notes. Minimise instead if you might want it back.
Auto arrangement
Widgets arrange themselves when a workspace is first set up. Adding a widget later places it without rearranging what is already there, so expect to position new widgets yourself.
The navigation dock
Collapsing the sidebar brings up a small floating dock at the bottom of the screen with Home, Apps, Workspace, and Settings.
The dock sits on top of whatever is beneath it, which can cover controls at the bottom of a widget. Drag it clear using the grip on its left edge, or close it with the cross. It stays where you put it.
